Born and raised right on the shores of Lake Texoma, Captain Robert Kenedy has spent a lifetime patterning the unique movements of the lake's fish. His deep roots in the area run back to his days at Kingston High School, but his true education began long before that, out on the water. From a young age, Captain Robert developed an enduring passion for fishing, casting his first lines alongside family and friends. Those early mornings on the lake didn't just teach him how to read the water; they created a lifelong bond with the local environment and a profound appreciation for Texoma's incredible fishery. Driven by those fond memories, Captain Robert realized he wanted to help other anglers experience that same magic. This inspiration led him to establish Papa Bob’s Guide Service, allowing him to turn a lifelong passion into a full-time commitment to his guests. Since becoming a licensed guide in 2017, he has earned a stellar reputation across Lake Texoma for his patience, welcoming demeanor, and unmatched local insight. Captain Robert specializes in targeting Lake Texoma’s premier species, specifically Striped Bass and Catfish. Because he understands that a great day on the water is about more than just the catch, he designs his trips to be completely accessible to everyone, from seasoned anglers looking for a challenge to young families introducing their children to the sport for the very first time. His friendly, hands-on approach focuses on teaching local techniques, sharing the history of the lake, and creating an inclusive environment where every guest feels like an old friend.
The Boat
To ensure a smooth and productive day on the water, Papa Bob’s Guide Service operates a sturdy 23-foot Falcon center console fishing boat.
